Instructions:

1. Prepare the Meat:
– Begin by dividing the ground beef into portions ready to make into patties. That is, for the desired portion size for each patty, meat balls are normally shaped roughly between one-quarter and one-half a pound.
– Be gentle when you work the beef so that they do not get compacted overly much and this will result in the making of hard and tough burgers.
– I recommend that you coat the patties with the seasoning mixture, including a liberal sprinkling of salt and black pepper, on both sides.

2. Preheat the Grill or Skillet:Preheat the Grill or Skillet:
– When grilling, the heat setting should be medium-high heat In a saucepan, heat olive oil to medium-high heat. That is; stove top heat if using a skillet, set the skillet to medium high heat.
– It is important to ensure that the cooking surface is clean and lightly greased to avoid foods sticking to the bottom of the pan or griddle.

3. Toast the Buns (Optional):
– The buns should also be toasty on the grill or skillet or at least warmed up as it would also add to the taste and texture of the burger.
– The preparation of the burgers should take the following steps; Arrange the buns, split side down on the grill or skillet and toast for 1-2 minutes or until lightly brown. Remove and set aside.

4. Cook the Patties:
– When the grill or skillet is hot, you should then proceed to put the patties with the applied seasoning onto the grilling or skillet area.
– Grill the patties for roughly 3-4 min on a side for medium rare to medium finish or cook in the favored degree of doneness.
– DO NOT flip and compact the patties with the spatula during grilling, as that will release tasty liquids and make the meat dry.

5. Add Cheese (Optional):
– Always, if you intend to include cheese in your burgers, the cheese must be put on the prepared patties at the final five minutes of the cooking process.
– It is also advisable to use a lid while grilling, or aluminum foil while frying so as to ensure uniform browning of the cheese.

6. Assemble the Burgers:
– Once the patties are arranged and the cheese has reached the right amount to be added, use a spatula to transfer the patties to a serving plate.
– Assemble the burger by placing the cooked patties on the bottom half of the cooked hamburger buns.
– Add toppings of your choice, such as lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise.
– Top with the other half of the hamburger buns.

7. Serve and enjoy:
– Serve hamburgers immediately while they are still warm and moist.
– You can serve them with side dishes like french fries, potato chips, coleslaw, or a crisp salad.
– Enjoy your own homemade hamburger!
