Rockfish Recipe

Rockfish Baked in Lemon Butter Recipe

  1. 4 rockfish fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  2. 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  3. 2 lemons (1 juiced and 1 sliced)
  4. 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  5. Salt and pepper, to taste
  6. Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  7. 1 tablespoon olive oil

Preparing Your Ingredients

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures the oven reaches the right temperature by the time you’re ready to bake the fish.
  2. Prepare the rockfish by rinsing the fillets under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels. This step is crucial for getting the seasoning to stick to the fish.

Making the Lemon Butter Sauce

  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
  2. Mix in lemon juice to the melted butter and garlic mixture. Stir well to combine.

Assembling the Dish

  1. Arrange the fillets in a baking dish lightly greased with olive oil.
  2. Season the fish with salt and pepper, then pour the lemon butter sauce over the fillets. Ensure each fillet is evenly coated.
  3. Add lemon slices on top of the fillets for added flavor and moisture during baking.

Baking And Serving

  1. Bake the fish in the preheated oven for about 14-16 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. The exact time can vary depending on the thickness of the fillets.
  2. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately. Fresh parsley not only adds a splash of color but also enhances the flavor.
