My husband LOVES Heath Bars, so when I found this recipe in a book he was super excited. I made it again last night to make sure it would always turn out tasting like Heath. Cooking with sugar can be tricky, but this recipe is really easy!
8 T. butter
3/4 c. sugar (don’t substitute)
1 T. brown rice syrup
½ t. vanilla
12 oz. chocolate, melted
Line a 8×8 pan with foil. In a saucepan, melt butter, sugar, and syrup. Bring to a boil over medium-low heat, stirring constantly. Once boiling, stir occasionally until mixture reaches 300 degrees on a candy thermometer (this can take up to 20 min.). Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour into pan and spread into even layer. Let sit until set, about 15 minutes. Pour chocolate on top of toffee; refrigerate for 30 min. Cut with a knife. Store in fridge.
