Where You At?

Wondering where this food scientist has been? Well, between my full-time work as a cheese scientist (which is generally as much fun as it sounds) and working on my masters degree (which is exactly as stressful as it sounds), I also decided to start my own food company last fall!

My business name is Anna Made It, LLC. Our first line of products is a brand called All You Can Oat and consists of packets with ground oats, flaxseed, nuts, and freeze dried fruits or dark chocolate to add to your yogurt cup or smoothie. They’re a great boost of fiber and flavor to add some variety to your diet, without any weird ingredients. I eat them in yogurt and oh my gosh are they ever perfect. I add some honey and dive into it every afternoon for an energy boost.

There’s one with dark chocolate chunks, almonds, and freeze-dried raspberries that makes me so very happy. I scrape the container- oh, speaking of our containers, all our packaging is biodegradable and recyclable! How cool is that?5AA2AF04-271C-4526-99FC-DCAA04DFBB96So anyways, this is why I’ve been too distracted to share new recipes here with you. I love doing this food blog but man I love creating an innovative, healthy food idea and putting it out there in the world even more! This is my passion project.

Michael and I drive to a commercial kitchen and hand package all our products under strict GMPs. Knowing the ins and outs of the food industry’s has really helped us advance faster than some small food companies, but wow there is a lot to figure out you guys!! We are currently discussing UPCs, secondary packaging, labeling more effeciently, buying some fun swag items to sell along with our products…and I want to keep developing new flavors, products, even brands!

Pecan Spice Cookies

These pecan spice cookies are what would happen if you crossed a Pecan Sandie with an oatmeal cookie I think. They’re crisp on the outside, chewy in the middle, and packed with spice that doesn’t overwhelm. Fall has become my new favorite season thanks to all the gorgeous trees up here in Wisconsin and plenty of sunshine. I’ve been buried in homework, quizzes, and exams, but have been finding time to get outside to enjoy the perfect weather every day! Continue reading “Pecan Spice Cookies”

Perfect Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

I’ve struggled to find the perfect oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe for a long time. I need a crisp outside, a soft and gooey inside, fresh-tasting oatmeal cookie. It has to be lightly spiced but enough to taste it, full of chocolate, and it can’t get stale by the following day. These oatmeal chocolate chip cookies fit the bill! Plus, I had all the ingredients. Can’t beat that.Gooey Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies Continue reading “Perfect Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies”

On The Go Oatmeal Cups

Oatmeal CupsOn Sunday evening, when Michael turned on the NBA Playoffs, I went to the kitchen and mixed these up. They looked like an easy weekday breakfast, and let’s face it, I skip breakfast all the time. Or I eat a granola bar during my morning work break and call that a meal. It’s not a meal, though. These are, though!Need a quick, healthy breakfast? Whip up a batch of these and be set for the whole week! Continue reading “On The Go Oatmeal Cups”
