Yes, it is time for a new series. This one is going to be all about the perfect classic cookies. I’m still searching for the perfect snickerdoodles (the ones shown here were too dry), but these things take time I suppose. I have found some amazing chocolate chip cookies and double chocolate peanut butter cookies, so those are up next.

This is one of my favorite times of the year. My birthday is on January 5th, so I guess loving winter is in my blood! Christmas and New Year’s Day used to be fairly quiet events in my life. Once my siblings got married and had kids, my family moved our Christmas to New Year’s Day and Christmas Day was spent at my in-law’s house. Christmas morphed from piles of presents to an amazing amount of family members! This year we’re having Christmas day at my parent’s house and the day after at my in-law’s. Luckily, they only live 20 minutes apart. I’m currently buried in school, with two more finals to finish this week. Plus I get to go to the dentist on Thursday…yay. So, instead of creating a ton of Christmas recipes, I’ve been using some tried-and-true favorites, as well as a few new ones. I thought I’d share my family’s favorite Christmas treats and the changes we’ve made to them. I hope you enjoy this magical time of year!
Cappuccino Muffins. These have a hit of coffee flavor and are perfect for our traditional Christmas brunch! The swirl of cream cheese that’s been spiked with espresso powder is a must-have. The muffins themselves are loaded with flavor and mini chocolate chips for a texture that’s irresistible. My sister and I have made these for years, and we don’t have to change a thing! I’ve struggled to find the perfect oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe for a long time. I need a crisp outside, a soft and gooey inside, fresh-tasting oatmeal cookie. It has to be lightly spiced but enough to taste it, full of chocolate, and it can’t get stale by the following day. These oatmeal chocolate chip cookies fit the bill! Plus, I had all the ingredients. Can’t beat that. Continue reading “Perfect Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies”
I feel like I’ve been posting a lot of M&M recipes, but I checked and the only other one I have is Soft Chocolate M&M Cookies, which are actually quite amazing even without the M&M’s. Plus, this post has 2 recipes for the price of one. Jackpot!
I’ve wanted to make my own pudding mix for awhile now, because I knew it had to be pretty easy and much healthier than the packaged mixes. Also, I just dislike paying a few bucks for something that probably cost the manufacturer .02 cents to make. Powdered milk is rarely on hand in my apartment, so once I bought some of that (it’s super cheap!) I was all set. I only made a half batch of the pudding mix because I really just wanted it to make these cookies. If you want more pudding recipes, check out this POST. It has 75 pudding recipes!
