Perfect Cookies: No Bake Cookies

Okay, yes, there a million recipes of this out there and they all look the same. But this one turns out soft, fudgy, not sticky, and is completely perfect in every way. And they’re even better the next day!

I had to run to the grocery store before making these tonight. Worth the effort! They’re full of fairly healthy ingredients, so don’t worry when you end up eating them in excess….
 I do make mine in a dutch oven pot, and I think it helps. I also cook it longer than most people, but not too long! Dry no-bake cookies are the worst.



Perfect Cookies: No Bake Cookies

Chewy, soft cookies that never turn out dry or too moist

Servings 2 dozen


  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 3 cups old fashioned oats


  1. Prepare cookie sheet or tray with wax paper; set aside. 

  2. In a Dutch oven pan, heat butter, milk, sugar and cocoa over medium heat, blending well and stirring continuously. Bring to a boil. Once boiling, stir and allow to boil until noticeably thickened, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat, add vanilla and peanut butter, and blend well. Add oats and stir until well-coated. Using two spoons or an ice cream scooper, drop spoonfuls of batter onto wax paper. 

  3. Allow to set for 25-30 min at room temperature on counter. Store in an airtight container. They're good from the freezer or at room temp!
